Located 22 kilometers southwest of the city center, in the suburb of Ezeiza, this airport handles over 85% of Argentina’s international traffic and serves as a critical link between South America and the rest of the world.

Buenos Aires Airport History

Founded in 1949, Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport is Argentina's primary aviation gateway and the hub of its flagship airline, Aerolíneas Argentinas. At the time of its inauguration, the airport's modern design and state-of-the-art facilities reflected the country's post-war aspirations, making it a symbol of progress.

For three years after its opening, Ezeiza held the title of the largest airport in the world, a distinction now claimed by King Fahd International Airport (DMM) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, which spans 776 square kilometers. Today, it remains one of the few airports in Latin America offering direct flights to all inhabited continents, cementing its status as a vital global aviation hub.

Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport Terminal Overview

EZE Airport has undergone significant changes to improve passenger experience, with its terminals now streamlined for efficiency:

  • New Departures Terminal: Opened in April 2023, this modern terminal, often referred to as the "Zeppelin Terminal" due to its unique design, handles all departures—both international and domestic. It integrates the functionality of the old Terminal B, making it the largest and most advanced terminal at the airport.

  •  International Arrivals Terminal: Formerly known as Terminal A, this terminal is dedicated exclusively to international arrivals, featuring efficient processing and amenities for travelers arriving from abroad.

  • Domestic Arrivals Terminal: Previously Terminal C, this terminal focuses on domestic arrivals, with most flights operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas and other regional airlines.

Transportation Between Terminals

There are no inner-airport shuttles to take you between terminals. Despite the airport's size, all three terminals within the Ezeizas airport are close to each other and therefore well within walking distance.
